Our team is seeking an Online Community Manager to join our client's Social Media Experience group. In this role, you will be responsible for engaging with and moderating diverse member communities across social media channels. You will act as the bridge between the brand and the members, fostering trust, defining operational standards, and leading projects to drive organic growth and positive sentiment in online spaces.
Responsibilities:
+ Engage directly with community members, responding to questions about products and services, and triaging escalations across social media channels.
+ Moderate conversations, remove inappropriate content as needed, and address or correct misinformation.
+ Manage and implement community guidelines, moderation queues, and auto-moderation settings on platforms such as Reddit, Facebook Groups, LinkedIn, and Discord.
+ Contribute to and maintain standard operating procedures governing moderation and engagement for each unique affinity community.
+ Leverage insights from social listening tools and data resources to monitor community health, inform engagement strategy, and influence decision-making.
+ Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including Marketing, PR, Product, Incident Management, and Customer Experience to prioritize and address key member questions and emerging trends.
Requirements
+ At least 3 years of experience in social media customer service or online community management.
+ Proficient in social media management tools such as Sprinklr, Khoros, Sprout Social, SparkCentral, Buffer, or Conversocial.
+ Deeply familiar with Reddit, including moderator functions, insights pages, and the upvote/downvote system.
+ Strong understanding of Discord platform features, including event, role, channel configuration, and server gamification.
+ Skilled in online community moderation: knowing when to intervene, remove content, or defuse unproductive conversations.
+ Genuine passion for building and participating in online communities.
+ Up-to-date knowledge of social media trends and expressive, creative online communication styles.
+ Demonstrated empathy and commitment to positive member experience outcomes.
+ Curiosity and determination to seek out answers, improve processes, and thrive in ambiguity.
+ Proven self-starter with a bias toward action; able to work independently and know when to ask for support.
