LM Gill is a Naval Defense manufacturing company located in Manchester, CT. Due to increased Department of Defense (DOD) spending, we are expecting substantial growth and looking to hire accordingly. We are looking for a Manufacturing Engineer who will be responsible for ensuring our manufacturing infrastructure is efficient, cost-effective, and safe. No recruiters please.

Responsibilities:

\n
• Interpret customer requirements and develop, with the support of programming and planning, manufacturing plans for part and assembly production
\n
• Create and maintain revision-controlled engineering documents to support manufacturing processes
\n
• Create and edit process traveler/routing sheets
\n
• Use SolidWorks to provide manufacturing support
\n
• Troubleshoot manufacturing problems to return to plan as quickly and cost effectively as possible (working with all internal departments, outside vendors and our customers to achieve this goal)
\n
• Occasionally assist in performing internal quality audits
\n

Qualifications:

\n
• Use of ERP systems for engineering and manufacturing purposes (for example: Epicor)
\n
• Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T)
\n
• Proficiency with SolidWorks
\n
• Understanding of machining processes and equipment
\n
• Experience with the machining of weldments, forgings and castings
\n
• Experience with NDT (VT, LP, RT, UT)
\n
• Previous experience with ISO/AS quality systems.
